Bridge Nine Records sign New York hardcore band Incendiary Device - New album coming this fall
Since 1995, Bridge Nine Records has been a home for genre-defining records. Today, the Boston label welcomes New York’s Incendiary Device to its growing roster. Founded by NYHC journeyman, documentarian, and filmmaker Drew Stone (vocals), and Tristan D’Graves (bass), Incendiary Device’s music is steeped in early hardcore and classic punk while inescapably maintaining the edge and grit of their New York roots. Heavily influenced by Minor Threat, Negative Approach, SSD and early Black Flag, Stone and D’Graves share a rich musical history having played and toured together for over a decade in several New York-based bands (Antidote, The High & The Mighty, Drew Stone Hit Squad). Rounding out the 4-piece are Shaun Brennan (guitar), a veteran of the D.C. music scene, and Mike Flaherty (drums) who cut his teeth playing many a hardcore punk matinee (Car Bomb Parade, United Blood). Having formed in 2022, Incendiary Device will release their first full length album on Bridge Nine this fall.
On joining the label’s roster, D’Graves states:
“We’re thrilled to be working with Bridge Nine for our debut album. Their reputation as a label that supports and nurtures the hardcore scene is unmatched, and we’re honored to be part of their roster.”
And chiming in on what fans an expect from the record, Stone expands:
“We are excited about this album. It echos all our hopes and dreams looking towards the future. It harkens back to a time that was a big influence on all of us : Classic old school, American hardcore. We look forward to heading out on the road playing it for all our friends around the world. Thank you for the support!”
Bridge Nine label owner Chris Wrenn exclaims on signing the band:
"Working with Drew Stone and his new band, Incendiary Device, was an easy decision to make. Drew's long, rich history in both the New York City and Boston hardcore scenes, as well as his unwavering commitment to using his platform to promote up-and-coming bands represents the dedication and spirit that I look for when signing artists to Bridge Nine. I'm excited to be part of what he's up to next as he unleashes the new Incendiary Device album upon the world!”
Incendiary Device’s self-titled release features 12 tracks penned by D’Graves, Stone and Brennan that capture the energy and rage of NYHC with hook-laden songwriting sensibility, separating them from their peers. Incendiary Device has toured nationally and shared the stage with bands including Biohazard, Madball, Sheer Terror, and Gogol Bordello, and have a couple of shows on the horizon with more to be announced. Stay tuned for more details regarding the upcoming record.

***Update: SOLD OUT!*** Bridge Nine is proud to partner with our old friend Casey and his Iodine Recordings label on this pressing of Stretch Arm Strong’s album “A Revolution Transmission” - pre-order the limited-to-100 B9 exclusive on coke bottle clear with white spatter HERE!
About this collaboration:
Few punk bands have the history and influence held by hardcore veterans Stretch Arm Strong. Formed in early 1992 in Columbia, South Carolina, Stretch Arm Strong perfectly executes a style of Hardcore Punk that few other bands have been able master as well as them. The band embodies a style of Melodic Hardcore, but seamlessly incorporates elements of pop-punk and heavy breakdowns. Their style appealed to fans of all punk sub-genres, allowing them to remain an important band in our scene until this day.
Iodine Recordings and Stretch Arm Strong have partnered together to reissue “A Revolution Transmission”, which has become one of the most iconic and popular hardcore punk records of the early 2000's, and has been out of print for over 20 years. This limited pressing has been completely redesigned and packaged using elements of the original art and completely remastered for vinyl by Jack Shirley (Quicksand, Joyce Manor, Deafheaven) at The Atomic Garden in San Francisco, CA. Offered in several exclusive color vinyl variants.
Death Before Dishonor "Master Of None" - new single OUT NOW
Death Before Dishonor have released their newest single: “Master Of None”! This offering includes both the title track and a cover of the Dead Boys classic, Sonic Reducer, both of which are now streaming.
According to the band:
“Months after ‘Unfinished Business’ was released, the pandemic hit. Touring was paused but we knew we couldn’t lose our momentum and wait another decade in-between records. Zeuss’s production on that record was just the start of many heavy things to come. After welcoming our guitar player B-Roll back into the band, we couldn’t wait to get into the studio again. ‘Master of None’ is a showcase of what we consider all the best aspects of our sound. Songs to be sung in basements and festival fields all over the world. Metallic hardcore riffs mixed with UK punk anthems, but never too far outside the traditional hardcore roots from where Death Before Dishonor started over 20 years ago.”
“Lyrically, Master of None is about breaking the shackles of mental manipulation. Most people can relate to the struggle of someone in their life wielding emotions or guilt against them. With this track, we’re taking aim at those who use these tactics to maintain control, and are providing an an outlet for anyone ready to fight back."
Place your pre-order for the 7” now, and catch Death Before Dishonor on their European tour starting on July 29th!
Gold variant is a Coretex Records exclusive.

Bridge Nine x The Athletic "Street Vending" Playlist
“Yankees Suck” was the most heard phrase in Boston in 2000. So Bridge Nine record label owner Chris Wrenn walked to Fenway Park with friends to hawk souvenirs with the slogan in the street, earning hundreds of thousands of dollars and investing it all in a new generation of hardcore-punk bands.
As a companion piece to The Athletic’s story about the early days of Bridge Nine and Sully’s Brand, and how Boston sports fans (unknowingly?) helped fund a new generation of hardcore punk, Chris created this playlist featuring bands that both included members who hawked the rivalry-fueling merch at Fenway Park in the early 2000s, and the bands that benefitted. From American Nightmare to Death Before Dishonor and H2O:
Bridge Nine featured in The Athletic (New York Times)
The Athletic just released an article written by senior editor Sunaya Sapurji that delves into the origin story of Bridge Nine Records, and the outside-of-the-box way that we financially kickstarted the label, by selling “Yankees Suck” merch to Red Sox fans after every game at Fenway Park in the early 2000s through an effort that later became the Sully’s brand. Learn about how Boston's sports fans (unknowingly?) helped launch the Bridge Nine label, and how both brands have grown side-by-side over the past two decades! Read it HERE!

CAVE IN Performed live at Bridge Nine (Recap)
CAVE IN performed the most intimate of sets live in the Bridge Nine warehouse on Friday, July 7th, 2023.
I’ve been a fan of Cave In since their inception. Both Cave In and Bridge Nine got started in 1995. In 2000, I began working for Lumberjack Distribution assisting Big Wheel Recreation and Cave In’s label at the time, Hydra Head Records, right as Jupiter was being released, and I had a chance to see them navigate a very transitional time for the band.
In 2022, I was asked if Cave In could record a music video in our yet-to-be renovated warehouse space, here at the new B9HQ. It was for the song “Reckoning” on their new album, Heavy Pendulum on Relapse Records. Check out that video HERE!
When the warehouse was finished and we were ready to start asking bands to perform in it, Cave In was one of the first bands that we asked. Artist Thomas Hooper contributed a great illustration for our show posters, and I hand numbered them before the show.
Jason Zucco, who directed the music video for “Reckoning” returned to Bridge Nine and with the assistance of Ian McFarland (The Godfathers of Hardcore) helped capture Cave In’s live performance. We’ll let you know when the video is ready!
I want to thank everyone involved with making this evening happen, and everyone who came out and spent it with us.
- Chris Wrenn
